James G. (Jay) Munisteri, chair of Gardere’s international dispute resolution team and partner in the litigation practice, was featured in Law360 for representing Rescue Concepts Inc. in its case in the First Court of Appeals on whether certain aspects of attorney-client communication should be considered privileged information.
“Looking objectively at what the parties said and did, Rescue Concepts presented evidence that Smith agreed to render professional legal services to it," the court said. "Both the explicit statements of the parties and their conduct manifested an intent to create a contractual attorney-client relationship."
The case is In re Rescue Concepts Inc., case number 01-16-00564-CV, in the Texas Court of Appeals for the First District.
