Frederick Geilfuss Discusses Hospitals and Price Transparency Compliance
麻豆直播 & Lardner LLP Partner Frederick Geilfuss is quoted in a Modern Healthcare article, 鈥,鈥 discussing a recent study from the Journal of the American Medical Association finding that fewer than six percent of hospitals obeyed the federal Hospital Price Transparency Rule during the early months of its implementation.
Geilfuss noted that 鈥渓arger systems have said the fines for noncompliance are pretty low and the possible impact on competitive harm could be much more significant,鈥 mirroring the data that many health systems were more willing to pay the fine than gather and publish data. He continued, 鈥淭he sensitivity to what managed care contracts say and what hospitals would potentially have to give up in negotiations is an issue that is completely unknown.鈥
