鶹ֱ & Lardner LLP partner Kimberly Klinsport is quoted in the Los Angeles Times article, “,” offering insight on the threats businesses face in today’s digital world and what executives can do to safeguard privacy.
Klinsport’s comments, excerpted from a business advisory panel, assessed the certain industries and businesses more frequently targeted by cyberattacks, the security threats posed by mobile devices, the emerging role of AI on the cybersecurity landscape, the mistakes companies make when protecting themselves from breaches, and the dangers of hardware hacking.
“Our best piece of advice: Be prepared,” Klinsport concluded. “We advise and help our clients develop comprehensive incident response plans, test out those plans through tabletop exercises, and train employees. When something does go wrong or a client experiences a cybersecurity incident, we work with them to make sure that they are complying with all of the applicable laws in reporting the incident, notifying affected individuals, and doing what we can to help minimize any exposure or further damage.”
