New partners deepen the firm’s capabilities in insurance, transactional tax, and private capital matters

�鶹ֱ�� & Lardner LLP announced today that corporate partners Brad Drake and Kyle Pine have joined the firm, bringing �鶹ֱ�� to more than 20 lateral partner hires this year and advancing the firm’s strategic expansion across key markets, practices, and sectors.

Drake joins �鶹ֱ��’s Insurance Practice Group in Chicago, and Pine joins the Tax Practice Group in Boston. Together, they strengthen the firm’s national Corporate Department and expand its capabilities related to insurance and reinsurance transactions, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and complex transactional tax matters.

Drake, who joins from Paul Hastings LLP, advises insurers, reinsurers, asset managers, private capital sponsors, and other market participants on sophisticated insurance and reinsurance transactions. His practice focuses on acquisitions, structured finance matters, and other insurance-linked transactions, as well as matters involving private equity and alternative asset management platforms. He also has significant experience advising clients on alternative risk transfer transactions, reserve financings, and securitizations involving insurance-related assets.

Pine, who joins from Goodwin Procter LLP, counsels private equity firms, venture capital funds, and public and private companies on a broad range of federal tax matters. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, financings, corporate restructurings, and domestic and international tax planning. He regularly advises clients on the tax aspects of strategic business matters and has significant experience working with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on middle-market transactions.
